can i ask does what area you are working in make a difference to what you can charge?? i was givebn advice on my course what to charge and it seems to be a lot more than what some guys are saying on here

Yes i think area does make a difference, as does experience. I would just work slowly through the work to be done and come up with a price for each bit that you are happy with. Good luck:thumbsup:

hey turkish isnt kent posh m8????? you should be charging that a day down there m8 heehee,,any way i was given advice to charge 22 a sq metre for ceramics and 40 for porcelain,,80 for marble and 100 sq metre for mosaic work,,does this seem expensive to other tilers??

Personally i would be looking at £25 sqm for ceramic, £30 for porcelain, and £50 ish for mosaics and stone but then there are other considerations such as cuts, sealing etc. £100 sqm!!!:47: I wish!!!!

Some parts of Kent are posh but i`m not allowed in them:grin: i don`t have green wellies and a tweed cap!

I'm just wondering what tilers charge in different areas. I'm tiling a living room floor only 15m2 with 300x300 porcelain tiles. Few cuts around a fire place, a square out of the middle of the room for carpet and weird shape walling. Just wondering what other tilers would charge?

BTW I have charged @#@ for the job not including materials as the client has already purchased them. I work in London.

I would be charging at least £2008 plus cup of teas on the hour !
kilty55 did you ever get the hang of the pricing lark lol

The tillers forums arms. You have to be part of the tiling community zaw. a decent poster and also a bona fide tiler to gain access. In the two and a half years you have been a member, 17 posts doesn't cut the mustard !!

What do you do for a living ?

Don't worry based on your helpfully replies I wont use this forum again. Not really sure how it all works but it was just a general question seeing what other people charge in their areas.

read the forum rules. as you should have done when you first joined. looking through your previous posts you actually know this !!!

Zac, you need to gain entrance to the forum arms as already stated by a Moderator. Try and do that and your pricing problems will become much easier.

Sometimes there can be a language barrier, sometimes its computer illiterate people (like me) that cause themselves problems feeling their way around a forum. I know that is true because my first threads about any topic were always moved by a mod to the correct place.
Whatever it is lets keep the guy on board TF and stop him going elsewhere as that is a bridge burned.

Try to work out your prices in days you think the job will take.
Nothing worse than rushing at the end, trying to make up for cutting it tight with m2 pricing.
Cant believe your just starting out with over 8000 posts to your credit.
