The Tiled Kiosk (Turkish: Çinili Köşk) is a pavilion set within the outer walls of Topkapı Palace and dates from 1472 as shown on the tile inscript above the main entrance. It was built by the Ottoman sultan Mehmed II as a pleasure palace or kiosk. It is located in the most outer parts of the palace, next to Gülhane Park. It was also called Glazed Kiosk (Sırça Köşk).It was used as the Imperial Museum (Ottoman Turkish: Müze-i Hümayun, Turkish: İmparatorluk Müzesi) between 1875 and 1891. In 1953, it was opened to the public as a museum of Turkish and Islamic art, and was later incorporated into the Istanbul Archaeology Museums, housing the Museum of Islamic Art. The pavilion contains many examples of İznik tiles and Seljuk pottery.
Walked into our condo in Orange Beach Alabama and found two tiles popped loose from the floor and raised as if they had been pushed together to form a tent. What would cause this?

Hello all,
Hoping that once again I can get some good advice on here, you were invaluable when I installed a new shower..

Prior to the tiles being...
Hello and thanks for your time.
When the shower metal frame (that will hold the glass wall) is placed plumb along the tiled wall, you can see that the tiled wall is uneven. The top and bottom touches the tile wall but in the middle there is a huge 2cm gap between the metal and wall. Basically...
Hi, we are having a worktop fitted and have been asked how thick to make the upstand. We are tiling above the upstand but haven't chosen the tiles yet. They are probably going to be 8 or 9mm thick. Shortlist of options are 75 x 300 X 9mm or 320 x 625 X 9mm or 130 x 130 X 8mm.
We would like the...
Hi, I recently had a contractor strip out and replace all the Mastik in my shower as it had failed. It was a very poor job and not colour matched. The new contractor did a good job, or appeared tom with a matched colour (Jasmine) but less than two months on it has completely failed, coming away...

Just after a bit of advice please. I had my kitchen floor tiled last week (porcelain tiles).
I think there is movement and cracking/crumbling grout in some of the tiles. I supplied the tiles and the grout. The tiler supplied everything else including the adhesive. I think he’s used the...
