I have just managed to get back on line after 30 minutes trying.
I had a warning that my pc was under attack from a virus. I have AVG and Microsoft security essentials running all the time. The message says attack from 222.92.185.146 port 19861, attacked port 31064, Threat; Bankerfox.A
I am then asked if I want to block the attack, if I say yes it takes me to a webpage to purchase the download, if I say no it just keeps sending this pop message. I have at least 50 red warning boxes that keep appearing at the bottom right hand corner. I can hear them as I type, one pops up every second or so. I cant open the control panel because I get a message saying its infected, I cant open my security centre because thats supposedly infected.
I use firefox to browse, this thing keeps opening windows explorer, another big box has just popped up saying I am infected with spyware and I cant close it. There is a green icon in the corner that has just appeared, it gives me a message in broken english that I have to buy something.

What is this stuff and how can I stop it, I have restarted the pc 3 times
now. :mad2::mad2::mad2:

Update, it appears that the FBI have now scanned my pc and are contacting the local police because of some files on my pc? WTF if going on? The boxes are now in their hundreds and growing.

i had this last year and it was a job to get the pc back

our anti virus cleared it but untill the duchess gets home i cant tell you how as she did it last time

All my icons have now disappeared and I have 4 rows of red warning flags at the bottom of the screen, I am downloading Neale's link.

Fingers crossed.

BankerFox.A is a Trojan that is designed to steal users' banking data related to certain banking entities. When they access any website of the affected banks through the Firefox browser, the Trojan is activated and logs the information entered by the user. All the information entered in that website will be logged by the Trojan.
BankerFox.A does not spread automatically using its own means. It needs an attacking user's intervention in order to reach the affected computer. The means of transmission used include, among others, floppy disks, CD-ROMs, email messages with attached files, Internet downloads, FTP, IRC channels, peer-to-peer (P2P) file sharing networks, etc.

Have you been paying online today ?

No, not bought anything online for months.
I can now hear a muted conversation through my speakers, it sounds like a busy cafe or restaurant? It is like a recording because it keeps re starting after 30 seconds or so.

Completely lost as to what is going on here.

I only use this pc for email, TF, youtube, nothing else.

:mad2:

daft question now, but would unplugging from the internet make any difference? it sounds like they have remote access over Dom's pc...

restart pc

press f8 loads that should start pc in safe mode, if not select safe mode

run files

restart

I have downloaded it, but I cant open it once its on the desktop, something is blocking everything. I have hundreds of pop ups that wont go away.
it wont let you get into any anti virus programs

thats the problem we had, you need expert help, but i have no idea who my duchess rang and she wont be home for another couple of hours

just spoke to my duchess, she rang our internet provider who went in live with her and they got into the anti virus and got it clearing the virus

its got your anti virus blocked, we did pay for the call but it was worth it

As thewrighttiler says, try starting in safe mode ( normally F8 ) on startup, keep tapping it untill you see the prompts, try safe mode with networking, you may still have access to the net then, then you can try accessing email and or links given.

Start the PC in sfae mode then try and restore the PC to last nights back up, you won't lose any documents but will lose any programmes you've installed within that time.

That may or may not stop the pop ups (which sound like they are coming from the virus its self not you anti-virus software) at that point you can update your anti-virus and clear up any last bits of it

reading your other posts, The pop ups are coming from the virus DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANY ANTI_VIRUS SOFTWARE IT POINTS YOU TO< THEY ARE VIRUSES AS WELL!!!

i had a something on my lap top last april, it wouldnt let me download any anti virus, so i ended up paying a guy to wipe my laptop for 40 quid...sounds like a bad one you've got!

With respect, the guy sold you nonsense. Nearly everything is fixable. Certainly having a virus doesnt need you hdd reformatting. I hope, for £40, he removed all your important documents and put them on a DVD for you before he did that?
