Is this job being done correctly

Antony Davies

hello looking for some advice.

we had our tiler come and do half a days work today and i am not sure about the work that has been done so far and want to see what you all think before he comes back to carry on with the job tomorrow.

the spacing between tiles looks very uneven and some tiles don't seem to match up. also the wall corner doesn't seem to be right. Not sure if i am being over the top and it will look good when finished.

took some pictures and also picture of the adhesiveness. thank you for your help.

used is this okay to use for a bath shower wall?

your opinions would be much appreciated

In my honest opinion this is not a good standard at all, i can see the tiles are not level at the bath hence the joint closing and not lining up, the corner heights look different to, wall prep is not great but hopefully a more experienced tiler could advise you further, (cheap tiles can have curves and not be the same size)

Wickes tiles can be bad for quality and size issues, this certainly isn't helping, bit even still the tiler should be working the size issues out or coming to you to discuss if they are that bad they are unworkable or beyond his level of skill, or lack of it

Wickes tiles are renound for being sizey, but after two rows thats no excuse for that shambles, only thing right with those pics is the adhesive..
So how you gonna play this when he turns up in the morning Anthony?

do you think we would be able to get our money back for the tiles based on that... we bought them over a month ago

good question i am not to sure at the moment lol awkward...

It's very, very poor. Little or no background preparation.
Setting out non-existent. Full tile into a corner, obviously assuming the walls are plumb which they never are. Tiled straight off bath edge.
And that's just the bits we can see.

Nowt awkward about it!
You tell him it's crap and your not prepared for him to continue otherwise it will cost him more when you have to pay someone else to get it redone professionally .
You take the tiles back to Wicks that are left and get your money back.
Then you use the Tilers Forum directory for someone local, check them out, and have them do the job!

Hi
Poor wall preparation ( looks like straw walls? )holes need to be made up and should be primed.
Poor tiling. Can't see any adhesive, so looks like it's dot and dabbed!
Poor tiles. He's got no chance keeping the joints level, if the tiles are that far out. ( maybe you could measure some. .)
