Hi
Am starting a floor tiling job in a few weeks.
There are four size tiles 45x45 30x45 30x30 15x15 ,They want them in a certain patten, I have a small diagram of this tiles.jpg
The picture shows them at an angle but they want them straight . I know once I lay the first four tiles it should just follow on, but is there a quick way of laying them , instead of thinking about each one , I have laid loads of floor tiles but not in this way. any tip would be grateful , I will be starting in the middle of the room, the area is about 20sm,

Regards
Les

i would set it out like this the blue lines are the chalk lines int the middle of the floor after being centred

when you start setting room think one pattern as one tile it will make it easeir to set up WP_000078.jpgWP_000053.jpg

i did 70 sq yrds years ago. there is no quick way but as nybor62 says spacing is very important.

Set the pattern out dry first as some patterns will need a 3mm space and others are designed for a 5mm space etc.

google tile patterns and i am sure you will find this pattern shown as a large repeat module which will be easier to follow till you have a few boxes down.

have tried to google tile patterns, no luck, was thinking of downloading an app ,so i could enlarge the pattern, any ideas on good apps for this sort of thing.

As has been said, dry lay a set, you'll probably find the smaller tile a tad bigger than it should be so you'll have to play with the joints to get the best result.

I use the smallest size tiles marked on a staff, which allowed good cuts against the walls when a small tile was fixed and good cuts for the larger tiles.

get a pice of cardboard, cut it to the same shape as the four tile pattern, move it around the floor to see where the pattern / cuts go.

get my patterns from villagio tiles website and just print whichever is suitable off, always remember to keep diagram the right way up at all times
