Emulsion where I'm tiling

Hi, had a day off the other day and the painter came in and painted the ceiling, getting some emulsion over the plastered walls where wall meets ceiling. He also half painted a wall I'm tiling before someone told him to stop as it's being tiled! Used black emulsion there.

Tiles are ceramic metros, 300x100. Am I okay to sand then SBR then tile?

The emulsion might just wash off. Try that first

Some does. None washables / matt etc. done it a few times.

Try sanding it to open its structure up and then prime

Think I'm going to get some of those bits like a metal brush you stick in the end of a drill. Should make easy work of it. The SBR it
