Hi there !

I have recently laid some new, pre-sealed, cork tiles in a bathroom area and had to rub down (sandpaper) some uneven joints leaving areas which rapidly became darkened with dirt impregnation

I have managed to clean the darkened areas with a block of pumice which lightens the affected area considerably (periodically washing the pumice with a nail brush to clean the cork dust)

I would now like to seal the whole floor with a low VOC liquid sealant ? polyurethane ?
I have no idea which product is best or where to source it from

Any advice would be welcome, PLEASE !!

Richard

You can get a water based varnish but to stop reaction with previous sealer, you might have to lightly sand the whole floor to accept new finish.

Most DIY outlets sell water based varnish sealers.

Thanks for your advice,
It makes sense that I make a 'key' for the new varnish by lightly rubbing down the entire area first !!
