I charge for replacing tiles in the middle of the floor or wall, between 20 and 60 per tile.

For the rest, it's about 200 by day. If the customer is on budget and happy with poor quality, then there will result in more sqm by day, by the contrary, top quality fewer sqm by day... It's simple.
That’s probably the biggest load of tosh I’ve seen written on here, and that’s saying something .
So if you do loads of m2 you are rough , but if you lay 1 tile a day ,you are awesome, clown

I generally price it on the job but normally £35/per m2 unless I'm including materials I might charge £40/45 it all just depends on the job really and day rate is normally £175

I was just wondering if the days in the UK are 24 hours
as all over the world
or 12 hours.
because something is wrong.
or they are not capable of doing the calculations I :)

Hi all. Have not been on TF for a while.... Have noticed, some members posting rates, but no area, region. Not many London rates. London rates are higher... I work in and around London. Trying to avoid day rates, but sometimes not possible. I charge £275 a day for my tiler, £150 for labourer. Sq.m rates, starts from £50.

This is the thing about this topic that I can’t get my head around. I’m sure I’m not on my own in this thought but I go to work everyday with a view to earning as much as I possibly can and obviously without compromise on quality because in the long run that would decimate me.
From what I can gather by all the above posts were talking about standard tile as a base line of say £35/40ish m2 and a day rate of £175/200ish m2. What’s that all about??
On an average day with standard say 600 porc which is what I’m using as a base line, how can you not be fitting say 15m2 per day? Which would equate to £525/600 per day yet many in here are happy to work for £175/200 per day! doesn't make sense to me! Even if you were a lazy so and so and only laid 10m2 it still doesn’t make sense. I get prep etc being a day rate but I read from this that some don’t mind doing average tile on a day rate? Wtf!

I disagree, don't think you can lay 15sq.m every day, including grouting. Only if you have large floor, you can do 15sq.m .( then lower rates per sq.m)5-7sq.m average.

On a large floor with standard 600’s I’d consider it a poor days work if I only laid 15m2 and some days for sure all I can get done in a crappy bathroom with niches etc is 5m2 hence the word average unless we’re strictly talking about bathrooms:rolleyes:

At the moment I'm tile large swimming pool. Did 100sq.m floor in 6 days including grouting. Walls, steps, tricky top edges, cutting around lights ect. around 8sq.m a day.

I don't answer because the variables are many,
only the difference between north and south is almost 50%.
if I move to the center of my country 10km, I can take 25% more, if I do 40km and I come to Milan, I can earn 50% more.
at the end of the year what matters is what remains,
and how much you billed nothing else.
and this thread is a crazy s.it, the differences are enormous,
no one specifies what and how these prices are quantified,
what is included in the price, I just say that as we are used to
here just doing the work without any material,
more than half of you would always be out of work.
ps. here only counts how much you bill per year,
if you go over a certain amount you earn more if you stay at home.

other concerns are:
who gives you the job?
private customers or tile stores?
the difference is enormous, if I have to do 5 trips just to see the work
and then to take the money, I can also charge € 50 per sqm.
and you always have half-empty days while you wait for them to prepare your work. a mountain of andysday.
my job is 80% for tile shops and I almost never have
days andysday. I arrive at the construction site and I already have tiles
and https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ on the floor to do
when I'm done, I call and they come to clean, if there are no products
I call and they arrive at the place, I just have to knead the https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ and lay anything else.

I don’t every let my quality drop wether its price or DR , im pretty much pretty good in all my jobs.
But as always , tge better looking the tile the better looking the job, a good looking tile can make a decent tiler look exceptional;)
