Tile weight on various surfaces

Your just about on your limit, a couple of kg for adhesive and grout to add to the fixed weight.....

I just wonder why some people get the walls skimmed if they are being tiled on grrrrr.

Happens all the time, they don't know better and usually it's done before they ask for a tiling quote.

You will more than likely be fine if it's been skimmed well. Weight guidelines will always have some play in them.
