I used Keraquick white for the 1st time on a lovely marble job and I have to say, for just £14 a bag, I was well impressed!

It mixed up better than BAL, even by hand.

One thing was odd though and I wonder if anyone knows why?
It seemed to get wetter after mixing. What I mean is, after mixing to the correct consistancy (I like my addy a bit thicker than most - more toothpaste than mayo) after about 10 mins in the bucket it seems to go runnier before it starts to really go off in the bucket.

Never noticed this with BAL RSF - is it something I did wrong with Keraquick?
Didn't cause any probs - just surprised me is all.

Takes a bit of getting used to mate.
Allow 10 or 15 mins slump time before adjusting mix after initial mixing.
Works better if mixed stiffer.
Does not go off too quick either

ITS GOOD STUFF...as Nick says leave for 10mins or so then mix again...it does have a good bucket time.

I luv it........mapeker is good also.........but the keraquick white...feels just like bucket gear...texture wise...

aye good bucket life..i used white keraquick a few times on stone jobs but found it too grainy as it was scratching the travertine...just an observation if ur using ti with stone m8 watch outy i might choose somethin smoother like nanolite next time

Aaah, I hadn't noticed the extended bucket life. Makes sense to let it rest 10 mins. I thought it was less gritty than BAL's RSF. Nice to use and I'll deffo use it again. Noticed the stronger solventy smell too - NICE!

keraquick should be called keraslow, lovely adhesive to work with but if you are in a hurry forget it

Love the stuff myself, use mapei a lot, grouted today with my favourite keracolorFF,nice.

Where do you go for that price mate?
I pay £22 at trade

only used it a few times, but if it was available in kendal, would use it every opportunity!

I pay £14 for grey but £22 for white!!!
At tile Giant Notts.
Might have a word and see if they can do better.

I pay £11 grey & £14 white, Boydens, Epsom. The other Boyden outlets price are higher, why I don't know.

I know the one you mean, gone out of my head to!!!! What about the Howtex sp rapid at £10.00p on offer there at the moment, good gear.

How long are you guys finding the "actual" pot life of Keraquick?

I used it for the first time this week and found that it was good for at least an hour in the bucket (the black book says 30 mins!) but that it did seem to go off within the 2-3 hrs as stated.

I have to agree with GD it also seemed to loosen having mixed it to the right initial consistency.

It was very nice to work with and if it does last that little bit longer in the bucket then all the better

Pro-fix.........from CTD..

Brilliant Stuff !

I'm using Mapai white powdered adhesives all the time now !
P9 is fantastic for tiling on tiles, Bal are just pricing themselves out the game lately for there single part white flex & Rapid set Flexi !
The only Bal adhesive i use is the 2 part flexible, Never tried the new version yet ?

how do you get it for £14 a bag i've just went onto tile giants website and they advertise it for £32 for grey and £34 for white which means you are getting about 60% discount ?

Its called Trade discount, and I pay less.

20 years of trading with my local suppliers gets me my prices.
Trade secrets, sorry.

here mate i think you miss the point of the tilers forum it's so we can help each other out not boast about what we can and can't do,you sound like the tilers when i was an apprentice who were meant to be learning you the trade but begrudged showing you anything,i get keraquick grey from builders depot for £12+vat hope thats helped someone,

Jonnie you are out of order with your comments, Diamondtiling is one of the forums leading contributors and willing to help anyone in a practical sense. I dont believe that anyone should talk about prices they get materials for that are not openly listed on the suppliers websites.
