Views/opinions On Job

Hi all.

Having bathroom redecorated with new rules from floor to ceiling. In my opinion the tiler has done a crap job but want some professional views before I approach him tomorrow about it.

Firstly. The new bath was installed which had a protective plastic wrapping over it. The tiler, who is working for the same people who installed the bath has grouted over the protective plastic covering the bath. So when we go to peel off the plastic it is under the grout!

besides this the job seems to be really botched. Uneven gaps from the ceiling to the tiles, rough cutting, tiles not in line, poor grouting an poor cutting if tiles around pipes.

Please see photos attached and please respond with advice I can take forward.

Thank you

WOW !!!

that is some bad tiling. I dread to think what it would have been like if you had wanted all walls doing !

ffs has he been to speck savers my half blind wife could do a better job.

its a complete mess m8 they should pay u to re do this total abortion get trading standards round these people need to be shut down talk about rogue traders

There a ton of issues there, between the bath and tiles should be siliconed not grouted, the grouting is abysmal, tiles running out of alignment, the gap at the ceiling line etc, you know it's bad and should not be accepted.

Crap is being polite...! Wow... It's all ruined and completely unacceptable! I would certainly not be paying for that and would be deducting the cost of tiles from previous work (bath works). I would make them remove the tiles and sort the walls/floor out from any damage caused at their cost, if they don't then I would also be deducting the cost of labour for this (depending on what you owe)! From this moment on have everything in writing regarding every conversation and action.

Of course if you have already paid up then you are in a harder position but you will win a fight legally with that standard, it's just a time consuming situation that way and going to cost more putting it right in the process.

Oh my lord !!!!! , Andrew I feel heartily sorry for you , that is a total abortion to be honest.

You are right to be concerned , you must raise your concerns with said parties ASAP.

Let us know how it goes.

one of the worst "tiling jobs", and I use the term very loosely,I've seen in a long time. Shocking.

Everything you need to know has already been said, many times!
Clearly 'a tiler' has not done this job!
Your concerns are definitely warranted!
I hope u have some leverage left in the way of payment.

I hate seeing tiles like this. I used to enjoy picking fault, kind of. But now that's getting daft.

Scrap that it's this thread.

Thought this was a new one then!

Christ that is dodgy!!! Haha

Sorry thread hijack, didn't mean to do that...just giving a comparative.
Re OP...dont pay, take it away

Blimey that's terrible.
I hope you are able to get the fool back to at least strip them all off.
However, I would make sure I protect the bath properly with wood and carpet / cloths before he comes around to do it, I would imagine he'll be in a bad mood and will just let them drop onto your bathtub otherwise.
Good luck.....
