I always get mixed up or forget what the number/Letter
combinations for the classification of https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ and Grout mean and everytime I try to look for a guide on here I can never find one so I thought I would start one off myself.

Please feel free to add to it or correct me

Type C - Cementitious (Cement based Adhesives)
Type D - Dispersion (Ready mixed / Tubbed)
Type R - Resin (Epoxy)

Extra characteristics are described by the numbers and letters below

1 - Normal https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/
2 - Improved https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/
F - Fast Setting
T - Thixotropy (Reduced slip/ Slip Resistance)
E - Extended open time
G - Grout

S - Elasticity / Flexibility / Deformability
S1 = Deformable (Flexible)
S2 = Highly Deformable

I can't just throw some sand and cement in a bag and claim it to be in accordance with EN12004 C2TES2. That would be ridiculous

I know, but I believe that's how it works.

One thing that they could improve on is actually state the true result of a test. Not just is equal or greater than 0.5N/mm2. That way we could really compare products.

Some products may just scrap in where others well exceed.
