And there was this one. Guy started @ 9am & was still there @ 10.30pm that night to do 4m2. This is the result the customer got:

After removal of the tiles I noticed some areas were packed to at least 25mm with ready mixed addy. The plasterboard had been attempted to be stuck to the brick wall with a 50mm cavity with ready mixed too.

He stuck the tiles to painted existing tiles

I started @ 9am, removed both sets of tiles, re-sheeted, tiled, grouted & siliconed by 3pm. God knows what he was doing to be there that length of time. Customer even bought him a chippy @ 7pm as they felt bad for him.

Heres the end result with Milford Cream I think it was

How come they didn't use same tiles you took off .?

Job I went to look at yesterday in bathroom on chipboard floor.
The bath overflowed and made some tiles loose.
Looks like tub adhesive and grout all in one ?

Some customers you have to feel sorry for. But just because he's a nice guy does not mean he's a "professional tiler"....... like this guy.

Chimney centre feature with split face effect interlocking porcelain. Sounds straightforward enough right?

Wrong!

Used the interlocks on the external corners and made a central closing section by hacking small squares out of the remaining tiles, filled in [some of] the joints with adhesive (yep... not grout), lippage galore.

But somehow, her only complaint was that they weren't cleaned up properly!

Maybe the externals are like that for hand and footholds when you are practicing your climbing skills! 🙂

Just tiled a kitchen splash back in a 1 year old house built by a popular company.
Well I was looking at the tiled floor and spotted that previous tiler has left spacers in the floor and tried grouting over them??
Must have been on price work

de spacer say "peek'a'boo"
First I thought it was a bit of rubbish then as I looked there was 4-5 of them and that was just in the kitchen area, not including some chipped tiles and my pet hate cutting around door frames ( couldn't sneak any more photos )

When I saw the brick slips I thought WTF! Then yesterday they painted them so perhaps that's the look they were after.
So I looked at 2 of the 3 bathrooms they've had done and again WTF!
Now this is 2 streets away from the Thames in a £2-3 million semi detached property under refurbishment.
What is our industry coming to!

That's bad! I'll never understand the way customers pay thousands for tiles then get the cheapest installer to do it! It's like buying a brand new car and getting Jack from down the road who repaired your mower few years back to maintain it.

You get for what you pay. The job probably it is done by the builder cheap and .

Down here nothing is cheap that's why the client brought his own trusted tradesmen in from Nottingham. Trusted in what? Because it isn't in the building trade that's for sure.
A further point of interest is the back kitchen it's been in over a week and a guy came down from Nottingham to fix a few extra units so it could be templated for Corian!! I'll show the 'kitchen' as it stands today. No roof, no floor, no f...ing clue!
