I got 35m2 of ditra for a job I'm doing at the moment, but the main contractor thinks it'll be too thick to marry up to the pool surround, so he's sent me some paper thin PCI that he says is an un-coupler, although to me it looks more like a tanking membrane, (no data sheet with it) Can anyone shed any light on this please as I've never used this before:thumbsup:

Pjc uses it all the time Doug and he's used it on many big contracts..give him a pm

I've used a free sample I got on a couple of small jobs, but can't for the life of me work out how it works as a decoupler.....

Doug does it look like the weed membrane you might put down in your garden? Really thin but a little bit fleecey? The homelux one is a bit like that

hi doug im assuming its pecilastic, white with faint orange grid throo it,i beleive its a crack bridging membrane thats what wetdecs told me

i have used it a few times, its not really the same product as ditra etc its also super thin
never had any probs with it

it is supposed to bridge hairline cracks but open, mobile or continuous cracks should be repaired first. It does not replace the need for joints in the screed. I have seen it used on anhydrite before on several occasions and am not aware of any issues which have arisen.

tbh, I'm sceptical, didn't get a chance to give it another look at today, but it's lack of "thickness and fleece" make me think it's a tanking membrane

Used it a few times with Pete, pjc, he swears by it, and that's good enough for me Doug 😉

D'oh, how's that for spooky, you the other side of the pond and we still post at the same time lol

Used this product for the last 4 years on many occasion, no problem with it and is thinner than ditra and uses less adhesive when tiling on top of and pci know their stuff so have got great trust in this product, it's around £9 per metre trade from my local supplier
