Got a call today to have a look at a floor. When I got there they showed me a few tiles that had lippage. Not much but all the same they wanted to know if I could do something. The lips are on about 7 tiles and no more than 1 mm.
So If i got a set of diamond pads on my variable speed polisher , how well do they work.

Oh yeah and there are a couple of areas where the filler has come out ....any ideas ?

Ok.. Use the pads..

Start 100 grit and work from the edge back into centre of the tile keeping it lighter pressure as you go inwards to the tile centre... once lippage is down then switch to 200 and then 400.. this should suffice.. but try to blend each grit in to existing finish..

If the 400 grit leaves a sheen then dull with 300ish grit wet and dry.

The pads depend on brand.. be careful and keep the polisher flat or you will get hard to remove swirling.

Alternatively neale you can use an orbital sander with paper discs and finish with wet and dry..

Thats the way I used to do it but I just thought It may be a good time to get something more professional as I have been asked before to do stuff like this. For the odd job a sander can work and If you can get Silicon carbide discs it works well.

You can get resins to match travertine on the web. l Clean the hole with a bit of meths on a cotton bud, then mix the resin & hardner and then fill the hole, leave for about 15mins, then gently use a sharp razor scraper to get flush, then use your pads to smooth and blend in.

Could you do this with a Fein or is it too much for it?

Also another thing i do if the hole is quite shallow i use my dremmel to make the hole slightly deeper and wider under the face of the travertine..
So the resins gets a good hold and does not come out again.

Got some filler and had a little practice in the workshop. As Enduro said, works a treat !

If you can't buy a resin that matches the color of your stone use this kit to tint it. I mainly use the white with some of the yellow and brown. A little bit goes along way.

This is company in the states I get if from, but sure it is available locally.

Tenax Coloring Paste 6 pc kit

Well its sods law that I didnt get the job to sort this lipping out. I only charged a day rate but they said that they can live with it now.
