2007 vivaro, nice runner, now. Lost injector number 4, £700 repair. Love it though. 20k a year.

Ouch!
I just replaced No 3 injector on my Grand Cherokee, £139.00 recon injector from fleabay and £75 labour to my mechanic.
And the reason the labour was so high was because it was an intermitant fault and we weren't sure which injector it was so he had to swap it out twice before he found defective one! Haha
You need a new mechanic D!

there's a common fault with traffic, vivaro, prima star, there all made by by a joint venture company called Renault PDS, from 01 -2010 a design fault on the windscreen to bonnet rubber seal let's water onto the top of the engine! That sits on the injectors, corrosion then sets in and you can't just pull them out, the garage tried, that cost 300, that was a pull presure of 600 psi! There a specialist from Carlisle set a firm up just for this fault and drives around drilling them with a specialist system, 300 quid later and the part-= empty wallet. Lol. My van was three weeks out of the seven year extended Warranty vaxhall put on this fault! Renault and Nissan look at it case by case, so your better with them. Bit annoying as the van had full vaxhall service history.
Such is

So your local garage tried to remove it and couldn't and still charged you!
Did they warn you this may happen and u'd still be charged?

I wonder if I'd still get paid if I wasn't able to complete a job and said to the client "sorry luv tried to do it but it's just too hard for me get someone who can! Oh and by the way, I still want paying!"

They did say it might not work but I know a lad from a main dealer where the same garage had gone and successfully pulled them out on another van then I could have got money back for the injector, but my luck it didn't work and the injector gets destroyed when drilled out.live and learn I guess. Anymore go I'll have them drilled. Not worth trying to get them pulled out. Maybe some one will read this with the same fault and take the drilling way.😵

@Wishiwasatoptiler - I bet your van's windscreen has got tons of clear Silicon around it now!!
My old truck used to do the same thing, and my gf's old Focus! (not the injector bit, just the leaky screen)

09 vito, 139 thou, starts 1st time every day, drives like a car (it had 127 on when i bought it 3 yesrs ago)
Best van ive ever had

Im just guessing Really, im not one to check my mpg if im honest, i just put £30 in and when the light comes on i put another £30 in.
Next time i put some in i will put my counter to 0 and check how much it does 😉

I've got an Astra Van with 212000 miles and runs well. In fact it passed an MOT on Thursday it cost me a Whole £9.72 on a passenger side drop link. it will do me until after Christmas now 🙂

Who here actually "loves" their van? I know I do

My wife borrowed it last week to drive 2 miles into town.
She left the handbrake on all the way and arrived with lots and lots of black smoke.
I now need new rear discs and pads and a brake fluid change. At 18k. :rage:
