Q
They look meaty....
do you do drill guide type things.......fed up raking about in my van looking for scraps of ply to cut holes in.
I have a set of wood hole saws that I cut out wotever size.....but they don't last long at all.
What would be the benefit of these core drills, over the cores we already have in our toolboxes (presuming the test goes well of course..)?
Bits just arrived. Cheers Alan. Will get together a handful of tough porcelain and get drilling this weekend!
#Look similar to my PCT hole cutters.
Cost a fortune, so any product that can do the same at a cheaper cost is good news.
Nice review. How do they compare to the electroplated standard cores?
To be honest Bri they are about the same except they seem to be able to cut well dry too. These ones dry would be great for cutting tiles in situ. They seemed to wander less too when starting drilling
Maybe the slots are omitted for extra strength as I regularly see this size buckle .
I would buy them but only if a similar price to the electroplated ones to be honest. These for me don't really do anything over what the dry or electroplated cores do. Glass or highly polished tiles on the other hand may be a different matter and I can see straight away that these would be a superior option due to how well the initial bite is and wandering is a minimum.
Nice summary and ultimately what we need to know.
Off to find a glazing forum then I guess![]()
