Hey all, i'm about to do a full bathroom(walls and floors) the tiles havent been choosen yet but the customer will want the lines to match, walls and floor. My question is this, given that the spaces between tiles are bigger on the floor than the walls how can i match the two up without losing my lines due to different size spaces, should i say use 3mm spacers on the whole lot??

hi quackfly
you say that the tiles have yet to be chosen, the only way to line up the tiles is as you say use the same spacer on walls and floors i usually use a 3-4mm spacer.
will the customer be buying square tiles ie 330 x 330 for both because if they buy say a 400 x 250 you will only line up one way either as you walk in or across the room but not both as no matter which way the tiles are layed the sizes will not allow you to follow the lines, hope you can make sence of this

cheers lads. i know that was a really obvious question and i would of quickly worked it out myself but its always good hearing someone else confirm what you think, this forum really is a gem!!:hurray::hurray:

I've often found that the floor tile version of the wall tile is slightly smaller, hence you can have a slightly larger floor joint, worth checking imo:thumbsup:

or not different, ie all the same size, lol:lol: ( trying to get my own back!)

Or opus pattern walls and floor then who cares... and get your own back for wot..missing a sensor out of a ufh floor....wot silly plonker would do that....😉

I've got a client who refuses to accept that it is not possible to line up the grout lines on all the walls using 600x300 slate effect tiles and keep the same size grout lines vertically and horizontally. I have even physically laid out tiles to show her why it is not possible but she won't have it. :mad2:
