Level a uneven wall prior trav?

2

2020Tiling

Hi , Ive a trav job tomorrow , walls are skimmed but out buy 2 inches inches in some parts so need to prep & level it before I fit the trav. Would it be ok to bond over the 2 inch dips then skim over before tiling? or would 1 coat plaster from wickes be ok?

I know pushing weight limits is done but what you have there and propose to do is a tad scary .. lol ..

Can said walls not be dry lined..?

Not sure dave, do you recommend dot & dab cement board or lat fixed? It would be great to skim over with 1 coat but not sure this the best option. It's a solid brick room , just a tad out of level 🙂

Wall needs taking back IMO big no no!
Back to brick, at least where the dots will go

Edit: didn't see other posts so yes, as above ;-)

Agreed, take back to brick where the dabs go & board out. Trav is frequently around 30kgs per sq mtr.

ive just done a job with a bow 22mm in the middle..porcelin 300x600...i fitted 6mm hardibacker..with fast set and screwed to wall..then the builder is skimming the wall to bring it up to back of tile...dunno why he could not of given me a straight wall:mad2:
