Underside of a window reveal

Okay, as someone who thought his tiling was okay for DIY and friends and family, but who has now been on a course and realises he was a tiling cowboy, ie PVA, crap tools etc, can you please tell me how you go about tiling the underside of a window reveal?
Very interested to hear how the pros go about it?
(And plenty of other questions to come! Watch this space!)

Yes, you got it....tiles falling off

If you use a good quality adhesive and the tiles are not hugely heavy i.e. thick granite, then the adhesive will have enough grab to hold them in place.

If you're just using tubbed though, put a bit of wood up there, and jam some battens off the sil to hold it in place.

Even good quality tubbed stuff should hold it Beanz...used to with me anyway!

I've tried it with Granfix Multigrip (which is meant to be pretty good), but gravity won! 🙁 :lol:

In my local shops the choice is Granfix or Weber. Haven't used the Weber gear yet, but as i've just opened an account with the place that sells it, i'll be trying it soon!! 😀

with any window reveal head allways comb the wall first but also comb the back of the tile when you then rub the tile into the head the sucton of the two adhesive applicatons creates an un breakable bond instantly.it will hold without battons and you will still be able to adjust side to side...

I'll try that next time, as i only combed the reveal.

I always support with a batten tbh, just in case!, use rapid set addy too if you can

If you are using tubbed dispersion adhesive and you need a bed thicker than 3mm then you are using the wrong adhesive....

Switch to a rapid setting bagged adhesive.
