walk in shower
A shower is a place in which a person bathes under a spray of typically warm or hot water. Indoors, there is a drain in the floor. Most showers have temperature, spray pressure and adjustable showerhead nozzle. The simplest showers have a swivelling nozzle aiming down on the user, while more complex showers have a showerhead connected to a hose that has a mounting bracket. This allows the showerer to hold the showerhead by hand to spray the water at different parts of their body. A shower can be installed in a small shower stall or bathtub with a plastic shower curtain or door. Showering is common in Western culture due to the efficiency of using it compared with a bathtub. Its use in hygiene is, therefore, common practice.
Hello, I’m so confused after reading numerous threads. We have a new build, and I’m doing this first bathroom from scratch by myself (pretty much). Ive never tiled. The shower area is barely started, I just bedded down the nassboard shower floor to the concrete screed, and the surrounding walls...
Hi, I will hopefully soon be turning our en-suite into a walk in shower, could people please recommend materials to use,
What backer board is best, best way to seal the boards before tiling etc
The floor is timber joists, 2 walls are plasterboard and 2 walls are breeze block/render.
Any advice...
Looking for a bit of moral support here. Asked by a plumber, who Ive done a number of jobs with, to tile a large complicated shower room/bathroom area. Usually not a problem but Ive turned up at the job today, they've left the original shower tray in, then laid ply up to and over the height of...
Hi!
we recently bought a new build property and all bathrooms have been tiled fully. The kitchen through to the orangery also has large floor tiles.
The tiler has done an awful job. Lots of chipped tiles, dirty grout marks all over the tiles, missing grout and uneven tiles. A major issue too is...
Hi, a few tiles keep falling off in the shower enclosure.
Any tips on the best material to use to replace the plaster. Pink area in the middle.
Thinking sand and cement (4/1 parts) or aquapanel piece screwed in.
thanks,

Hello!
I am about to lay a walk in shower with 120cm X 20 cm tiles.
In general the room will be a "brick" type layout.
The walk in shower is closed on 3 sides and borderless on the front.
The drain is a hole type drain which is off center, which means I will have to generally cut the 'v...
Would like recommendations for 300 x 600 (x10mm) porcelain tiles, on wall inside a walk-in shower enclosure, tiling directly onto tile backer board.
DIY tiler with limited experience. I think I need a powder adhesive for this size tile, but it needs a long bucket life - had a mare using penny...
Hi, can anyone please offer a reason why the uptiles at the front of 2 ensuite walk in showers (below the shower screen) have cracked along the top corner edge? It's not just the grout that is cracked but the actual tiles themselves have cracked as well. The same thing has happened in 2 of the...
hi there
just some advice on fixing the support for the drain cover required.
the drain cover has come loose in the shower.
the metal removable cover sits in a plastic support that is bedded into the floor.
it has all become loose and I am resetting it before it becomes too bad, however I have...
I will be doing full bathroom renovation, and the plan is to build a walk in shower due to the layout of the bathroom to give more open space and I don't want any nasty plastic stuff in my home so want to build something nice from scratch.
I have changed few toilets/sinks in past where I have...
Hello people, got a job to do with a walk in shower tray. The sub-floor is timber and the tiles are ceramic. As the shower tray has falls i'll ping 4 chalk lines to cut to and "envelope" the tiles to follow the tray to the drain as normal. I've done this with porcelain before and had to smooth...
