Stabila lx lazer level question

Just used my new Lx Stabila laser level and noticed the bubble / level circle in the centre. Does this bubble have to be in the centre for it to be level or is it self levelling? Spent the last hour putting wedges and bits of cardboard under it to get the bubble centre **yawn**

Yes mate, level the unit with the bubble on top, then the laser will do the rest for you.

It's a bit of a mission as it's a right faf on to get the bubble 100% in the centre. Then when you move it slightly you have to do it all again?? My old laser you could just put on any surface and it levelled it on it's own! I'm not liking this laser...

I've one got similar in my lock up and thats where it has sat for years....

I've never rated those types of levels however, I do think they could be useful for projecting the plane of large tiles on an uneven floor rather than 2m level.

Do you want to sell it ? why do you not use it? I put my last one in the bin as it needed calibrating and was just around the same price to buy a new one!

I've tried mines with bubble in centre & with bubble off center,Made no difference it still levels it's self.
Checked this umteen times with spirit level and it always levels itself out,If it cant level out line will
flash indicting level is not found.

Does it come with a pole or staff? Is it not for the plumb of yhat?

It is self levelling so get the bubble as close to central as you can (never spent more than 20 seconds for my lax50). It will do the rest

I find I spend more like 20 mins trying to get it close to the centre using wedges and anything else I can find when it's not on a pole . What do you use? I must be doing something wrong or I'm just not used to it yet!

I think you just need to get used to it. I do exactly as you do, get it to the right height and then put cardboard under one edge to level it up, spin it around the room making marks on the wall making sure when I've done a full 360 degrees the laser still hits the first mark, turn it off and the using spirit levels, play a big game of dot to dot 🙂

I got one with a bubble I bought years ago as a try out , crap at leveling , but the tripod fits perfectly on my Bosch GTL 2 80P.
