Hey guys,i am working for a property sevices company doing a pubs toilets at the moment, they are supplying addy and grout. There has been a fair bit of metal trim work and a fair bit of cutting as sloped roof`s and windows etc. I will be working on meterage and its around 65. What is a fair price per meter? i dont want to take the **** or rip myself off. Im in Bristol by the way. I have already been there over 3 weeks and have a bit left to do. Cheers,Ben.

i would say mabye 25 to 30 a meter thats what id be wanting personally alot mite disagree higher or lower but thats my opinion

thanks Tom,i was certainly hoping to hear 25,but wasnt sure as they are suppling addy and grout, but its pretty cheap gear and heavily discounted i should imagine

I'd concerned with tiling on tiles with that size your going to fix, whats the substrate the existing tiles are fixed to.

The walls are all over the place as you say, so extra adhesive will be needed to fix them so thats extra weight.

the substrate is good old thick brick walls,so im not too worried about that, and not really my problem as im just being told what to do if you know what i mean.

Ben - you've been on the job for over 3 weeks and there is still a little bit to do.
Your using cheap gear and its tile on tiles with a 40x25cm tile but that's not your problem!:yikes:
Your problem may be around the corner when you try to get paid.
IMO you should have agreed a rate before you started to tile - because if everything is on the cheap you wont get £25 for fixing.
Even at that rate for 4 weeks work you will get £80 per day maximum - are you on the cards with this Co. or are you self employed?
Good luck with the payment.

I am self employed, but good friends with the company i`m working for,so no problem with getting paid or with any comebacks,im just fixing guv! I have raised my concerns before about using cheap products etc.I just bill them at the end of job but yes we should have agreed a price before but they trust me and i have worked on a few jobs in the past on day rate.

you should always get your price clear before starting

they could pay you a tenner a m2 and you would have to swallow it

If you've had nightmare backgrounds and loads of raking cuts and trim, you want to be looking at a day rate mate - forget bonus work  work out a sensible hourly rate and multiply it by how long you've been there, that's what would be fair IMHO
You might want to do that divide it by 65m2 which will give you your m2 rate - when you have, stick a post on this thread with what it worked out at - you'll get a few :yikes: and a few
