Help please I have got a bathroom to tile floor to ceiling 17 sq.metres plain ceramics 200mm x 250mm with chrome edging running all round the room. Plus the floor which is only 3sq metres. I am removing the toilet, washbasin and radiator before tiling when replacing. I'm boarding the floor with ply and tiling the floor again with ceramics. How long would it take you experienced tilers to do the job? Thanks

Personally,
2 full days to do the walls.
Is the floor already tiled and to be taken up. If so I would allow full day to take up, reboard and tile.

The rad pipes are probably going to need moving unless you have enough give on if poly pipe.

And 1/2 day to reinstall toilet, washbasin and radiator

I do not have to remove any floor tiles and I am not removing radiator brackets (tiling around) so that I do not have move radiator pipes.

Are you fitting new furniture or just taking the existing out to tile and then sticking it all back in?

it all depends on how fast you are coop, i can tile a 20m2 with those ceramics in 2 days no probs, no more than 3, this is just tiling and not including any plumbing etc!!

 Getting worried told the customer 3 days and it's my first job. They might be very l...o...n...g days!!!

it should take two to three days by the time you seal the corners and grout it all . but take your time and do a good job ,the customer will be happier with a late nice finish rather than an early crap one .

hi cooperman should take you no more than 3 /3.5 days good luck mate!
p.s. don't worry if it takes a little longer as long as custmr happy.

hI Cooper, three days and you should be finished but if it takes longer it does, all the boys are correct, the customer wont mind if you do a good job

Thanks Guys for the encouragement

I know I can do a good job with the training I have had from Darren just a bit ambitious with the time frame.

🙂🙂

if you are boardind floor then putting tiles on top then putting sink and toilet back in you may find that the pipes dont reach so you may have to replace with flexi hoses also with the rise in floor the toilet and sink wastes might not line up so for the toilet you might need to buy a off set pan conector for toilet waste and a extra length of waste pipe for sink which there is 2 sizes so measure first if you need it

T&P,remember you will probably need to take a cut off the bottom of the door,so hope you included this in the price or arranged someone to do it between yourself & customer.Take your time bud and you will be fine, dont be a hero!

Interesting question T&P. Got my first two jobs coming up shortly. Not as large an area as yours but lots of cuts - kitchen with 16 sockets etc and a cloakroom walls with border, where sink/toilet/rad can't be removed because previous tiler grouted 'em in when he tiled the floor! I have allowed myself a week for each job but I didn't tell the customer how long it would take. They never asked either funnily enough.

Didn't want to put too much pressure on myself, tough enough facing your first customer as it is!

Good luck, let us know how you get on
