Hi all. Same wall, customer has asked if I would charge any difference in price between the 2 tile installations above. 8sq m area. I will definitely charge more for the smaller brickbond tiles but the question is, how much? I hate doing brickbond as it takes a lot more time (in my opinion) to prevent lippage etc.

Any thoughts?

Wouldnt be chargin the same for porcelain brick bond versus Ceramic normal bond, as I dont really do day rate.

So do you guys charge the same for Ceramic/Porcelain, Normal bond/Brick bond?

where did the op say anything about porcelain?, i assumed it was cermic.......or am i missing sumit.....im not as young as i used to be lol..

Didnt mention what it was mate, was just wondering if folk adjusted there prices for diffrent variables or everythin was on a day rate?

I very rarely charge by the metre, but if I do ceramic is cheapest, porcelain is a tenner more and stone is a tenner more than that.

Both options are ceramic. The reason for my query is it takes a lot longer to lay 50 tiles brickbond per square metre than it does to lay, say 12 tiles normally per square metre.

A Tenner a day more Bri?

But a day is a day? why more for diffrent tile types but not for layout?

Didnt realise how may folk charged day rate.

When I started my boss would fix 21 sq mts of 4 inch tiles in a day.
He wouldn't have been able to fix that many at 12 inches and make a suitably rough job.
I don't think that smaller tiles really take more effort IMHO.

I dont think the do either but broken bond does take a wee bit more time = ££££££££££
