CTD ultra tile adhesive

J

J Sid

I'm going to be using the ultra rapid set S1 white adhesive now being sold at CTD.
can't find a data sheet for it, has anyone got a link to it ?

best I can find is the data sheet for the Proflex SP which says:

Underfloor Heating (UFH): If UFH is being installed it must be fully commissioned before starting the tiling process to ensure it is in full working
order. This includes both electric mat and water pipe systems. Once the UFH has been commissioned it can be set to a low level to provide a max floor temperature of 15˚C whilst the tiling and grouting processes are undertaken. It is critical that this temperature is not exceeded as this can force dry the adhesive and grout with the potential of causing cracks in the installation or tiles to de-bond. Maintain this temperature for a minimum period of 7 days while the installation cures and hardens. After this time the UFH can be brought up to the required room temperature slowly at a rate of 5˚C per day. Render: When tiling to new render it must be ensured that the render is a minimum of 4 weeks old and is thoroughly strong, dry, dust and efflorescence free and stable.

not come across this recommendation with my present adhesive.
the word CAN is very hard helpful.... It SHOULD or it SHOULDN'T would be more helpful

thanks for reply Andy
tried the grey and totally agree, not nice to use at all.
Can't find data sheet on CTD website for the new ultra produces they are selling.

I hate it when the advice is can or may , don't think it's much to ask to have clear advice.....

My petty hate "no need" normally associated with priming .

just got the phone to my local CTD and was having a moan, not like me at all! , he said the data sheet wouldn't be on the website but remembers being send them in an email. He is going to look the out and forward to me.

Pretty typical price for ultra. What what brand have you been using and why the need to swap ?

When I used to go in ctd I used weber spf white was 17.99 a bag and I get tiler master setaflex 12 exactly basically buy 2 get 1 free

I use CTD for everything except adhesive and grout.
I much prefer tilemaster now.
I had several bags of their CTD Ultra grey to use a couple of weeks back for a mate's job (he supplied) and to be fair, it was alright to work with.
How well it actually performs - well that's his problem!

I found they don't care about the individual all they care about is them selves poor service from my position I'd much rather deal with a independent shop ...I showed the branch manager my tile master price list and he had the cheek to say tile master is an inferior product lol and then they sell the webber trade crap. .... the cheek of the man lol

The lads behind the counter are all good lads it's the people above if u ask me .........if u don't value my custom many other places will

@impish I use Tilemaster mainly by I do more floors. There's deffinately more user friendly adhesives for walls! Ultra sp es white being one of them
Really gone off Setaflex after using about 300 bags on a job. Couldn't wait to go back to ultra spes. I'd use isomat preferably but too expensive for me

Have you tried spes mark?

I really like the TM semi rapid for floors. I hear on the grape vine that ultra are releasing a semi rapid. Spreading setaflex on a wall is no fun it's too heavy and saggy

I don't like Setaflex on walls but I really like Magix on wall and floor.
The reviews I've heard of magix couldn't be more mixed. I've used the rapid once to feather out a wall. It shrunk and cracked applied at approx 8mm. Won't bother again

Ctd are useless in my opinion everything is to expensive and they do zero to help u out I stopped going in my branch about 2 years ago I stick to my independent tile shop and another national shop they help me out and sort me out good prices deliver and have passed on some real nice jobs ........ CTD SUCK

Wow ! How I’d like to edit this!
A respected member advised me many years ago - if you haven’t got anything pleasant to say, say nowt!!

Ultra semi rapid has been a rumour for a long time now. I heard in summer it was to be released in November gone. Just when a semi rapid is needed too

Can't agree there John. His branch may well be useless. Different opinions are what the forum is all about no?
My branch sorted out certain people much older who will be out the game or so long but someone younger with many years left in the game they don't help out so I went somewhere where I'm appreciated

Never really got on with Tilemaster adhesive although I can’t say I’ve tried everything they produce. I’m keen to try a couple of their slow set adhesive but when I approached my independent supplier who stock it, it’s stuff that has to be ordered in as they can’t stock their entire range. Likewise with the TM tanking. I get something like 50% off retail at my Indy but it’s still cheaper to buy online even with delivery. That’s with a single pot of tanking!

CTD is a little too far for me. Only pop in occasionally. I wish there was one nearer.
