Cheers! Using a cheap McAllister cutter, repeat bar is more like nearly repeat bar!! So some cheeky siliconing to do at end to hide some flaws but overall very happy so far!!

Ok so went up today and measured on floor where bottom row of wall tiles will come to and that just scrapes for centre line using wall to threshold. Layer some out dry n liked it so primed and stuck some down. Floor was higher at door so had to start there ( I assume that's where I start as rest can meet the level) sadly this was a pain for tiling on in the room so did as many as I could before leaving them to dry to tile the rest when I can walk on laid ones!

So happy with the layout compared to the small cuts at door, thanks guys

I put up the last PIC although not very clear to get opinion on that cut! Mate in works brother is a tiler and said he does his cuts this way with cutter. Tile is sliced into 4 bits to get the cut out and pieced back in tight! I'm not sure, it's not noticeable till u get right down and look but then it looks like a hairline crack. If I had of cut it like a rad pipe then the pedastal would have covered it all. Now at the side of pedastal you'll see a crack if you look closely. Opinions?

Should have gone with your instinct. I'd have taken piece out of the back and replaced it with an off cut from another tile. U can generally get it tight enough not to notice as long as it's a plain tile.
Just be careful when u grout or it'll be even more prominent. Or just change it altogether if u have spares.

Angle grinder or diamond hole bit easiest way of cutting centre of a tile out..by the time you've sliced the tile and faffed around piecing it back together, far easier imo

Haha d'u know I didn't even look at the top of the pipe. Just assumed cos u split the tile U couldn't drill a hole, Ooops!
:sofahide:

Live and learn! I'll leave it now considering its fitted but regret it and put it down to experience! As soon as I stuck it and cleaned it up I wasn't sure but left it as it was levelled. Major pain piecing the four parts together and getting them flat! Never again!

If you were insistent on creating a square cut, you could have put the cuts in the direction of the wall (going to the rear) instead of have the joint at the front. Personally I'd have gone for a hole, as this was the ideal situation to use it. Otherwise, good job.

Just bumping some of the older popular (sometimes not so popular) threads. Probably wont be current discussion these days but I just need to do it. So just ignore the thread if it's not current for you.

Looking at the pictures again; you could have moved the whole floor to the right so a whole tile was bang centre of the doorway and the cut where the pedastal for sink would have just been a cut out from the side. Just my pennies worth. Would like to see a picture of it finished.

Yes I know what you mean! Ensuite still isn't completely finished as I went back to completely finishing my bathroom. I have siliconing to do and refit the sink and toilet. I'll fire some current pics up later

Anyone having any problems with Tapatalk? Can't seem to load any threads to get a new PIC posted?
Tapatalk hasn't been reinstalled into the forum yet. You should be able to upload a pic on your mobile just click 'upload a file' when posting a message.

I understand why people used to use crapatalk, but why now?, this new site with a mob version is find.... 😉

I assume pedestal will be over that anyway so that's alright. Might want to Silicon or something around the pipes so you don't get creep crawlies making a home there because of the warmth etc.

Not really it serves no purpose. I just don't like having hidey holes for spiders to be honest lol
