Tiling the bath panel was in the quote too, he hadn't built it when I left tonight!

I seem to get the opposite when the supplier takes it upon themselves to add 10-15% for wastage on top of when i hafe already added it on. I then get the blame for there being too many

You need to stick on whatever quote you re-read "this includes 10-15% 'waste' and cuts" or something.

getting a return visit anyway now, plumber didn't set the shower pipework correct so one of my lovely tiles has to come off and make good. Plumbers sacked and I've got the job

John, that link doesn't work for me. I'd like to see a picture of one of your jobs roughed-in and before concealment. It's been interesting for me over time here at the forum to see how plumbing is done in the UK. Some similarities, but deffo some differences in methods, fittings, etc.

doesn't work here now rob. This job gets better/worse, shower doesn't work at all now, plumbers blaming supplier and vice versa. Going to chuck my hat into the ring tomorrow
Mixer shower fittings have changed a gret deal over here last few years will have a search for you later
