Re: North East tiling Training - Tyne & Wear

HI Varley.... Where in Durham are you from? Your on my patch! lol

Re: North East tiling Training - Tyne & Wear

Just finished the 4 day course at "North East Tiling Training", The course is superb, easy to follow, very friendly with lots of fantastic tips to make tiling so easy!!!!....Well done to Darren, Tracey and Paul for a cracking course!!!!!!!🙂 🙂 🙂

Re: North East tiling Training - Tyne & Wear

Hi All
I completedl the course last week...hopefully, some of you are reading this, thinking of attending a tiling course course.I was in your position about 2 months ago and after reading the posts on this forum I bit the bullet and enrolled on NE Tiling.
Am i glad i researched the different training companies on the web...mentioning no names some of the lads did not cover on their course what Darren covered on the first afternoon.
The course is very fast paced with a great deal of info to take in, however I cannot speak highly enough of Darren, Paul and Tracey. Nothing was to much trouble and I have gone from a keen DIYer to a competent tiler who will not be afraid to take on a paid job... I had the fortune of staying with a friend whilst on the course who lived in a very expensive house I even had the confidence to tell him what a rubbish job the so called tiler did in his luxury bathroom pointing out to him the mistakes in setting out etc.... slither cuts everywhere
I am now looking forward very much to the natural stone course
So if you are thinking of going on a course give Tracey or Darren a call they are very friendly and everything will be explained to you..even helping you find digs etc.. you will not be dissapointed 🙂

north east tile training

hi i just thought i would come on here to let you know how good the training is that you recieve off darren and his team at north east tile training i attended the weekend course and was surprised how much i learnt off darren his teaching seems to be effortless.

you learn everything you need to know about tiling and a whole lot more including how to set up on your own to how to find work and when darren tells you there is a lot to take in he means it anyway i think it is well worth every penny and i will be booking to do the natural stone course that darren also runs

so many thanks again to darren and his team keep up the good work and i will hopefully see you soon

Re: North East Tiling Training - Tyne and Wear

I finished the course last week,The course gives you so much info,I tiled my own bathroom a few years ago and darren really opened my eyes, ripping the tiles off now! ,like to say a big thankyou to Darren and of course tracy and see you both in june🙂

Re: North East Tiling Training - Tyne and Wear

Can't add much to this this thread that hasn't already been said about NETT. It is hard work and I for one am glad I spread it over two weekends as a lot to take in ! Darren however is a brilliant instructor and you will finish the course full of confidence. I completed the course with a great bunch of lads who have stayed in touch. Darren also has a great sense of humour and the course flows really well with afew laughs along the way. Tracey excels at the customer service side of the centre.
To put it simply if you are thinking about doing a tiling course this is the one to do.

feed back for tiling course

Re: North East Tiling Training - Tyne and Wear

hi every1 i was on the north east tiling training course in may with my son it was brill and darren and tracey make you feel very welcome. The course is very intense but very much worth it by the end and you won't learn half as much elsewhere. In less than 2 weeks i've got my tools, business cards(which i will be sending Darren 2 give them the once over)a trade account with the largest tiling company in ireland,4 clients and the chance of a contract 4 all council houses in n.ireland not bad 4 a 4 day course is it.It just goes to show the work Darren puts into this course it's fantastic if it can work 4 me it will work 4 any1.Many thanks Darren and Tracy i wish u all the best 4 the future. belfast colin

North East Tiling Course

Hi All,

I started this course on 21st May 2007, I did the 4 day wall and 1 day Floor tiling course all at once.

All I can say is this course is the business. Darren and Tracy are fantastic and really know their stuff. I have done tiling before ( My own Bathroom and kitchen) and I wish I had done this course before I did it. I would have done it in a third of the time.

Darren is an excellent trainer, and you can tell that he has a wealth of experience and really passes this on. The structure of the course is marvelous and the hints and tips you learn will save you loads of time, the techniques he teaches you will leave you confident to do anything. The no mess Silicon was remarkable. I have done siliconing before and ended up covered in the stuff.

If your thinking of doing a course "Do this one and this one only". Other people on the course in the same week had mentioned they had done other courses and still learned more on this one. Do not go anywhere else. This is the course you want. I have handed my notice in (Big Step I know) but the way I see it you either do it or you dont.

Darren if your reading this - Many thanks!! The course exceeded my expectations by a long way. I have my first job already in 2 weeks time and I look forward to many more and a fulfilling career.

Re: North East Tiling Course

welcome m8,good 2 hear you enjoyed your course,a lot of us did this course.Although you are full of enthusiasm you must be cautious as i did the same thing as you and packed my job in and finding work and getting established is not as easy as you may think, also i hope you took in everything Darren said to help you when you are out on your own kos its a different ball game.I wish you ALL the best in your new career and i'm sure you will be fine if you just take your time on the first few jobs. BRI🙂

Re: North East Tiling Course

Cheers Bri. Yes I know it will be hard and totally different. First job is my cousin (bathroom) and I have a second job now lined up (kitchen splashbacks). No advertising as yet. PLanning on doing 1 ot 2 jobs a week to start (work coming in hopefully of course) until I build up speed and experience.

Be going to the tile shops this week and getting business cards printed. Starting in local free paper for a bit.

All I can say is Im going to give it my best effort, have a fall back that I can pick up temporary work in so thats comforting.

Thanks for the cautionary advice.

North East Tiling Course, Paul Newcastle

Hello all, just thought i'd write a short thread to say some thank you's. I completed the Wall and Floor and Natural Stone courses at North East Tiling Training i i'd just like to say what an outstanding week it was.
I went on the course purely for DIY but am seriously considering starting up once i have done a couple of more jobs for myself and family. The level of instruction given by Darren was top class and with Tracey looking after us it was a really enjoyable week and i would and have recommended it to anyone thinking of doing a tiling course.
To Darren, Tracey and Paul many thanks again.

Hi Paul

Just want to echo your remarks and thank Darren and Tracey for a great week. Its been several weeks since I did my course and l have not been on the forums for a while but I thought I would come on to say abig thank you for the excellent training. I have been on a number of courses recently but Darren's course has been a class above all the others in terms of the amount of information and the manner it was delivered. I have been on courses that have been twice as long but haven't delivered half the amount of information in a manner that could be easierly absorbed.
Three cheers for Northeast Tiling.🙂

North East TT

Sort of course related?

I'd like to say a big thank you to Tracy at NETT... I was booked to do a course next week (natural stone etc) but had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances...
Tracy couldn't have been more helpul or understanding, same goes for Brenda at the Sea Crest, (local B&B)
A great big thanks to the two of you,

Re: North East Tiling Training - Tyne and Wear

Hey everyone!

Just completed this 5 day course. Have to say it was excellent start to finish. A really friendly, down to earth set up.

A must for anyone wishing to learn to tile!

🙂

Re: North East Tiling Training - Tyne and Wear

Have heard only good responses to the courses. I have looked at the web site and is full of a lot of information. But i could not find any prices on the site. Could someone pm me or post a reply letting me know how much it cost to do the 4day course.

North East Tiling Training

I would like to let everybody know how great this course was. I went to NETT in march. As I had to travel over 800 miles to get there hoped it wouldnt be a waste of time or money. IN FACT IT WAS THE OPPOSITE great value for money(why waste time on a four week course when Darren teaches you all you need to know in 4 days?)

The course itself is very intensive, we were there from 9am till 7pm every night. The way Darren teaches is straightforward and to the point. Its a lot to take in but the way he gets it into your head so you can remember it is amazing.

Before this course I had never picked up a tile before,When I got home my first job was in a new build house, I had 2 shower rooms (all walls and floors around 25sqm each) and a kitchen splashback to do. Darren always said your first job would pay for the course fees and all your tools. He was right.( I hav'nt stopped since)

All I can say is go for it you won't regret it. Cheers Darren and Tracey

Re: North East Tiling Training - Tyne and Wear

Hi all, not a lot I can add that hasn't been said, I haven't had much chance to thank Darren and Tracey and NETT in general as I went to London more or less straight from the course. Went from london to Falmouth on a new build Pizza Express 500 + M2, fortunate to be taken on by my brothers tiling company. The knowledge picked up from the NETT course was priceless, to the point I nearly managed to blagg my Brothers business partner into thinking I'd been tiling for years ...lol, I came clean though 🙂
Looking forward to the next big job in a couple of weeks time, twice as big, picking up more experience and confidence each day, home for a bit with a few small jobs to do.

Soon, with the excellent start given from NETT and the experience I'm getting working, I will go on for myself full time.

Once again though, a very big THANKS, to all at NETT.

Very friendly atmosphere. Im glad i have my notes, every time i read them i find something else i hade forgoten. A big thanks to Darren and Tracy for a very enjoyable and very fast week.
