I would normally seal before laying .However I left my tub of sealer at my mates last week after I tiled his fire place. And I will get it back tonight -laying today hopefully.
have had a wee look around other threads to see if I can find the answer( I am sure its there) cant find it.

Is it ok to seal polished porcelain once it has been layed on the floor?

Many thanks.:hurray:

You might get away with it, depends on the tile I suppose. Adhesive is much more course than grout so it may not stain in the same way. Can you not get a temp sealer and try that?

some tilers only seal before grouting or after grouting, will maybe work if you hve worked very cleanly throughout!

i tend to lay then seal then grout and seal again depending on the tile if you do go for that then keep the tiles clean

Polished porcelain is generally not too porous.
I would fix, then clean and seal, then grout. If the first lot of sealer was swallowed pretty fast then seal again, if it just sat on top then I just buff the tiles up after grouting.

Cannot see a problem in laying then sealing. Then grout. then re-seal.
LTP mpg pol porcelain sealer is very good for this. Pol Porc is not very porous at all and so seal needs leaving on a short while before buffing up to a shine.

Pilkington recommend sealing their polished porc before laying, so I think a lot depends on the manufacturer.
