I sometimes find it harder to price smaller jobs than a 60m2 floor, some jobs with out many m2 but time consuming make it impossible to do on a meter square rate....with that in mind what would your price be for this job, I all ready know what my price is, just interested what others would charge for such a smallish job..

6m2 tumbled limestone opus pattern, floor is a hallway, sand cement and flat, all old flooring will be removed so ready to tile, it has 4 doorways to cut into and the stairs to cut round, customer supplying the tiles i'm supplying all adhesive , grout and sealer....

forgot to add, jobs about a 20 mile round trip..

hmm im in at about £400 myself.....allowing for 2 days plus mats..

although its probs day and a half...its a difficult one to price...

I haven't grasped London prices yet. I've heard all sorts of silly prices lately.
But, like you, i have the suspicion id be there for half a day on the third day finishing off. so lets say the extra 50 notes will cover that.

Why not price smaller jobs in the days you think it will take to complete.
Small jobs really hard to work out a per m2 price especally with cuts, prep work etc..
It may sound more expensive on paper but you still have most of the cuts to do as you would a much bigger room.
As for price ? I would have to see the job ond go from there.

I like to look at jobs first as well, but to be honest I'm sick to death with the bloody time wasters, when it comes to smallish jobs im fed up with the idiots that still think we work for £50 a day this customer sent me a detailed drawing of the room, I gave a price on that asking if it was with in her budget, if it is I will travel the 10 miles there and 10 miles back to look at the job and give them a written quote.... i'm still waiting to here from her......lol

yeah they think we always work for £25 per m2 and there downstars loo is only 2m2 so that must be £50 surley lol

wtf are some people on...???

after agreeing my £400 price, I went to have a look today, last week I sent her loads of questions by email about the job, what tiles she had, how many m2 ..ect...and in particular is the floor WOOD OR CONCRETE, got the answer back that its a concrete floor, soon as I walk in I could feel it was wood under the carpet. after pulling some of it back not only was it wood but it was a chip board floater...:incazzato:these were a young professional couple that must be as thick as ****e if they cant tell wood from concrete, another wasted 2 hours of my life...!!!

For small jobs like this, I do day rate £250.00 per day, or £30.00 per hour

If someone quoted £250 a day over here, they wouldn't get the job tony ,maybe down South, not sure ,but around my way,owt over £150 and we get laughed at

I was looking at £400 + cost of materials, These jobs always take longer than I think, you could be there on morning number 3 thinking "I've done it again and gone in too cheap"
