Hi to everyone, thought Id just introduce myself as Im a new member.
Currently doing my first job for a neighbour of mine, kitchen splashbacks.
Its turning out a bit of a pig of a job, as the walls are all over the place, my fault for not checking properly I guess. Anyone got any advice when it comes to bad walls, would you do the job or turn it down..? Any ideas.😕

Hello m8.

Don't worry about not checking the walls, i did the same when i first started out. You soon learn! 🙂

If the walls are really bad i tell the customer they need to be sorted out before tilng. It all depends on what tiles are beinng used as well. You can get away with a bit more if the tiles are smaller, have bumby faces, have a bevel etc.

If they are really bad and the customer refuses to get them seen to i would turn the job down though mate. At the end of the day you want the job to turn out the best it can so others will take notice and your reputation grows, if the jobs bodged coz the walls are cak you wont be happy, and othes who see it will think badly of you.

Good luck though me old mukka.

looks like your stuck with this job ,as you have started what size are the tiles being used smaller tiles will always follow the wall where as larger tiles will have to be packed out ,pain in the *** sorry
sorry cant give too much advice without seeing the job but look on the bright side
IT WONT HAPPEN NEXT TIME its all a learning experience happy tiling:coffee:

It's all a learning curve

Depends how far you have tiled, you could always take them off and start again mate,no shame in making mistakes.
