Dear Forum,
This is my 1st proper quote and i really want to make good.

Bathroom

18sqms of walls to ceiling using 300x600 and 300x300 porcelain with 2 windows incorparating the sills, a sort of "brick set".

4sqms of floor using 300x300 porcelain, straight set.

Shower room

7.5sqms of walls (full in shower)half the rest of the room using the same tiles as above, but will include tiling around some box section.

2.7sqms of floor using the same as above. Straight set

Tanking has been offered, but they have'nt made up their minds.

Kitchen

2.7sqms of wall tiling using either 6x6 or 8x8 ceramic, all brick set.

7.6sqms of flooring using 300x300 porcelain.
The only problem is that the kitchen length goes over what used to be the back wall into an extension and the builder has'nt taken it down totally level, but they have screwed down ply, bending it over the lump. I know not to go anywhere near that until its resolved.
I have done some maths and come up with a figure of £2,095 including adhesives at £440.
i HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE-----PLEASE HELP. Regards alberttrotter1

How much are you getting your adhesive for mate?
Does that include primer and grout also?

Going on what you have put there i came out with around £1,350 all in.

let me go through it again.

Wivers and Varley,
Thanks for the replies.
I worked this out at £29 per sqm covering floor and walls totalling 55sqms and adding £440 for adhesives- trim and tanking totaled it up to £2,095. The adhesives price is with a 10% discount. It looks like i should be including the adhesive in the £29?????

Not sure what the going rate is around that area of the country mate, I charge £20m2. Differs from area to area, that might be a good quote for your area.

Guys,
I've been back in touch with PTS over this and they were kind enough to work it out for me and came up with a figure of £1,700 all in.
They were even good enough to give a distributor a ring and set me up with a trade account, i know i could have gone in myself, but as this guy only uses them i felt i would'nt get messed around. Nichols and Clark gave a whopping 40% discount, thus bringing down my adhesive bill from £440 to £200, giving the customer 20% 0ff. Just waiting for a reply from the customer but i'll let you know if i get it. Thanks for your advice.

Thought your adhesive estimate was a tad high.

Good luck mate. Glad to see PTS doing their bit.

Forum,
I've given my quote to the customer at £1,700 all in, They have said they've had 1 at £1,200 not including adhesive. The customer wants to check adhesive price before going ahead. I'll keep you updated. cheers

My price would have been £880 plus whatever the adhesive costs, probably wouldn't pass on any discount for the adhesive / tanking kits though... Probably be looking at £1200 all in for my quote.

Did you get the job m8?

Forum,
Did'nt get the job, Thankfully.
As the kitchen was part of an extention, the builder had'nt taken the back wall down flush with the floor and good old MFI's kitchen fitters kindly laid hardwood over the lump thus giving the floor a nice little run-off totalling about 50mm and as they wanted paving slabs on the floor and advising them that it would have to be sorted before i would touch it. I put in a price of £1400 inc adhesive, that worked out to £1100 for me, but they were happy with a guy charging £1200 without adh. I would like to know if they sorted the floor. Some you win, some you lose. Starting to get a number of splashbacks coming in, which is perfect for me as i'm still working full time shift work. Totally loving it.
