Hi, I have white ceramic kitchen floor tiles, which I put white grout in 18months ago, this grout has become stained, dirty, and will not clean, I have tried allsorts, so I thought I would change the grout to Grey, will I have to remove the white grout or can i put the grey on top of the white, there is quite a deep ridge between the tiles, the grout is not flush with the tiles. A x x

You really would need to remove as much grout as you can from the joints, how big is the floor? and what area are you from as somebody on this forum could possibly remove grout for you.

Aquamix do a grout re-colourant which is available in a variety of colours which would do the job as long as the grout is not cracked.

Hello! the floor is 'big' !! would I need to remove the grout if i re did it in white?? last time I did not seal the grout !! big mistake - there is no cracking or loose grout anywhere, so I I did it in white again and then sealed it ??

Its a machine that works with a reciprocating action. It has a special blade for removing grout!

Grumpy

Its actually probably one of the best tools i have ever bought. Shame the blades are so expensive to replace, so take care of the saw blades.

Here you go watch this video it will show you how it works...........

It should make the re-grout alot easier..........let us know how you get on.....

And yes i would use a grey grout as well.........

p.s.

we do try to be friendly ( some times)............

As long as the grout is all recessed. I would clean with heavy duty tile and grout cleaner. Then treat with a mild form of phos acid. Then regrout as normal or use Aqua Mix grout colourant:thumbsup:

What ever method you use , it will take time. I would say 4 hours to remove the grout in a bathroom is very good going.
The fein blades are expensive too but i thing the Fein is the more versatile tool.

Try contact cleantileandgrout they cover your area and specialise in grout colour sealing. We cannot travel that far. From Linden at Yorkshire.
