I'm thinking about getting one of these but I need some feedback from tilers that have one. I have seen the video on the their web page but not sure if they cut tiles or not.

The reason for asking it that I have a tricky tile to remove as it is on plasterboard. That sounds simple but the tile has a hole at one end where there used to be an electric shower and cold feed. So I was hoping the Fein might help in the removal of the tile

Thoughts please....

A good tool but I don't use all the time, never used for cutting a tile though. If your've got one tile to remove just scrape the grout from around the tile and tap with a hammer to break the tile and carefully remove

I was thinking of doing that but the tile is quite thick around 10mm with 4-5 tile adhesive behind. What I'm worried about is destroying the plasterboard behind the tile as this would be difficult to repair.

I was hoping that the Fein would be able to cut the tile once the grout and some adhesive have been removed.

Yeah but there is a hole through the tile and plasterboard around 6" x 4" where the electric cable and cold feed came through to meet the electric shower.

Apart from this problem is the fein a useful tool to have in the tool box. How often do you use yours?

Great tool mate. Only had mine about 3 months and use alot for trimming the bottom of door frames so tiles go under. Re grouting jobs a done in a jiffy and also usful for removing old cement addy. The sanding bits that come with it are good for jobs at home so overall a good purchase.

It's a useful piece of kit, but doesn't come out of the van that often. I don't think I'd use it for removing a tile though. May be okay for grinding down the adhesive so that you don't knacker the plasterboard??

would'nt be without mine but not keen on the new model blade clamp, i would consider the bosch blue range cordles, use it for grout removal and triming architraves/door cases - not for cutting tiles
