Spent most of the day thawing my Dewalt out for use, even though it was setup in the customers garage :mad2::mad2:.
I wonder if I can get some kind of thermal heater jobbie to keep the water flowing?

.. cold is it..

I might have this prob over the week end.. got a stone floor to do and i think i am cutting outside..

Not to bad on present job as cutter is inside.. empty house.

my big sigma is sitting half in/half out of a garage cutting freezing cold marble and i'm being slaughtered on the job.
Tiles off square, different thickness', and different sizes too !!!! 600x600x20mm polished marble.
I got lorry out today with another 2 pallets, out of 102 tiles from them i got 28 good tiles ! unacceptable and i'm not happy with it all, 2 days to finish the 90m2 then next job has to start saturday with a kitchen floor to finish that day for kitchen coming on monday.

I'am just using the angle grinder to cut outside in the snow!
Well I'am actually watching through the window as the lad cuts the tiles.
It does look cold though!

lmao TJ!

It was bitterly cold today, the water was icing up in the tray and on the tiles when left to sit on the cutter bed.

That's obviously where I'm going wrong......I need a "lad" to freeze his bits off, instead of me

See you guys with your big flash cutters, my little old plasplugs was sitting nicely in the snug and warm bathroom today. Brrr cutting outside? No ta

Captain, it sounds like you should get a bucket heater. I used to have one of these things until I got the point of saying "if it's that cold I'm going to do other work"

When I had one of these heaters, I used an extra length of hose and set the pump down in the bucket, and I put the heater on a brick in the bucket because it got so hot that it would burn into the plastic.

just wondering if Dewalt would be happy for you to put hot water in the cutter instead of cold water?? would it have a detrimental effect?

obviously whilst your machine is still new and under warranty they'll probably say no, but once it's out of warranty....

Actualy, those heaters will get the water to near boiling. That's why I had to set them on a brick.

The main problem I've had with pumps is when they got sludged up with the dust from the tile cuts. Before I got the Dewalt saw, I always had a set up where the pump was in a clean bucket of water and the dirty water drained out into another bucket. Once I stated doing that, the pumps lasted a long time.

The dewalt tray has a separate compartment for the pump, and it keeps most of the dirty water out.

Speaking of Dewalt saws, my local tile store has them on sale for $809 with a stand. That is about ~550 GBP.

I was thinking along the same lines as Sandy with the screen wash/anti freeze. Your finger ends still nearly drop off tho'

No problem all week with us putting warm water in the tray for our 10M Sigma !
No choice, even the washboy sponge was stuck to tray, lol.
