how much are people making per day (on average) now compared to a few months ago?

i havnt made over £120 a day for the past few months and have been struggling to win jobs

Hi mate
would like to talk money but not a good thing on public forum
As long as you are earning enough to pay bills that is a start.
Some earn more than you, some earn less
Depends where you live, contacts and reputation
Good luck

all depends which jobs fall into your lap, some you can think "jeez that went well!" others "christ, when will I get finished here!"

I've been going 6 years now, and finding clients seem to know the current climite, they keep trying to knock me down...eg, present job, 3m2 travertine, ply floor, lay, seal, grout, seal again. I've given it 2 days, 2nd floor flat, no parking, so street parking £3 an hour.

Started £150 a day, got me to £120 a day, mats are around £70 , want me to do it for £250.

It's a lottery in today's climate

Many people struggle to earn £300 a week

Consider yourself lucky to earn £120 a day ( if this is after materials )

£120 a day = £600 a week ( based on a five day week )

For a 48 week year with four weeks deducted for holidays = £28,800

Not a bad salary if you can regularily earn that.

120 x 2 = 240, mats 70 = 310, and they want it done for 250 = 90 a day...................:dizzy2: before tax etc.................I'm crying

we'll have to stick firm, customers can't seriously expect us to work for nowt can they?!:incazzato:

a year ago i got beaten on a quote. the other guy quoted half as much as i did! must of bn like 10m2. so its not just the current climate.
its scary tho, its affecting everyone. i mean my dad is self employed to and has had to drop his prices by a good 20%

One of the few good things about being self-employed at the moment is,no one can sack you or make you redundant, times are tough out there at the moment, youve got to get what you can and hope this recesion finnishes as quick as it started

Hi Mate,

We dont discuss prices in the public sections of the forum as a general rule becuase it is open for members of the public (i.e your customers) to see so can be counterproductive.

If you contact Dan or Dave with your company detials they will confirm you are a pro tiler and look at giving you access to the tilers arms section of the forums where you can discuss pricing to your hearts content out of the view of the public.

Oli

true but im not displaying my name.
i won a job today! wuhoo, £10 less than my usual day rate

No discussing prices in open forums.........contact myself or Dan about access to the pricing forum..
