I'v a customer who wants me to put 10mm x 10mm x 4mm glass mosaic on her shower tray. Just need to know if these will be ok for the shower tray, and what size trowel would be best to use. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'am sure it can be done but I will not be giving any advice as I would certainly assume that a GLASS mosaic will be too slippery underfoot to perform to any relevant guidlines for slip resistance!

there's gonna be a lot of grout lines to get a grab underfoot tho' John, but likewise, i won't be advising as I'm a bit unsure on this one:smilewinkgrin:

Ive got glass mosaic in my own shower floor but they are purpous made non slip no probs, polished glass mosaic will probably ok but why not use the proper stuff.
lucius.

the other thing to think about is how thick is the main floor tiles that the mosaic is going to butt upto!(or is it all over the floor) I wouldnt like to have to pack up the mosaic to make up the thickness what a mess you will get into!
Unless it is possible to make it up with those plastic packers i saw on here somewhere?

I've got to admit we never use anything other than anti-slip tile's on swimming pool step unit's , it's a bit risky IMO:thumbsup:

Phil, just to back up your advice to the customer, phone Mapei's tech department and speak to them...

Marmox say in there information that the minimum size tile is 50mm x 50mm on there trays, don't know if its similar advise on your tray

Hey buddy,

Is that not the maximum size of tile to be used without needing to make envelope cuts in a tile?
