Winters Here.fingers Starting To Split !!!!

If you can cope with your hands smelling like chocolate, Palmer's Cocoa Butter is really good - my other half used it during pregnancy for stretchmarks! - or good old E45 aqueous cream. Whatever you use you're doing the right thing, I've seen a couple of older guys with dried out & badly scarred hands from dealing with cement based adhesives / renders etc all their lives, not something I want to endure!

I did hear somewhere that if you pee on your hands it's supposed to make them harder and less prone to cracking....
Soooo..........as 3_falls such an active member.....One we all truly trust and who's advice is the best I've ever had the privilege to be a part of.........
I think a review is in order....what do you say mate...? 😀

just back from Majorca🙁 hands never been as soft for months got some barrier cream and may try gloves again🙂

Ps i will stand by this , its scientifically proven that if you wash up every night, it keeps your hands nice and soft .
Well thats what my mrs told me over 20 years ago , and my hands are nice and girly soft 🙂

I use Dermashield as a barrier and also to fix my skin when I've not been using it.
Best I've used and I've used it 10+ years.
Derma Shield The solution that skin's been waiting for : Derma Shield

Barrier cream in work and okeefes cream to get rid of dryness best hand cream for me on the market mid range in price if you get off eBay or Amazon even better!

Ouch Marc, is that an old cut that's reopened?
You'd need to get that healed properly or that could be a game changer

If only Lee!
No it's just regular split finger, sometimes if I'm really lucky it'll split the other side too and meet in the middle! Haha
I've got another one on my left index finger opened today, just started so maybe able to stop it over night tonight if I bind it tight enough.
But that thumb has been open for 2-3 weeks now, there's definitely a bit of crap in there still cos I can just squeeze it and make it bleed, I won't be pain free until I squeeze it and it bleeds freely, then I know it's clean haha
Then I can bind it and it'll heal.
Yes I never work without gloves, yes I use barrier creams and hand lotions. Haha but still they split! 🙂
It's a regular occurrence on both thumbs and index and second fingers on both hands!
Believe me I wish it wasn't!
U gotta love this job! 🙄

Try this: clean and dry then superglue/mitre-fix the cut. Hold it closed until set.
Once the glue sets then keep a blob on the cut to protect it from opening again.
This gives it chance to heal. It may take a week but trust me - it works.
I had the exact same problem on the same thumb and I tried everything until this.

Marc goto grand canaria and take a guided tour up into the mountains where the local tribes jumped off the cliffs rather than be taken prisoner by the Spanish, up in the mountains the locals sell an aloe Vera plant that IS the real deal, it'll sort them wounds out in no time, then simply protect yourself and those bad boys will only be a memory.
I've tried to buy REAL aloe Vera from all over the place, but nothing comes near to this stuff!

Cheers Imp,
Really appreciate that!
I WILL give it a go!

Wow! Haha cheers Lee, I like the canaries as it happens, I might actually give that a go! 🙂

If I hadn't witnessed this myself I'd have said someone was getting carried away, and having witnessed it, it would be exactly what I'd do to sort those splits out, money well spent in my view

a little tip about split fingers, or grouters finger as we know it. Put micro pore tape around the split. It takes the pain away and helps the healing.

Yeah that's what I use when I bind them,
Only use 3M tho cos it's the only one supple enough to bend without creasing! 🙂
I've tried just about everything, including Germoline New Skin, which is like a weak super glue.
The only things I haven't tried is actuall super glue and a trip to the Canaries! 😀
O'keeffs hand cream, gloves in a bottle etc
Currently using Derma Shield at about £40 a tin! 😱
Cheap if it works tho!
Oh alongside Aloe Vera Gelly (American spelling)
All the way from Scotsdale Arizona! Haha
Appreciate you taking the time Pete (Pete's right isn't it?) 😕
Thanks.
