which Mapei tubbed gear for 6mm ceramics?

At last, a customer who's happy to have small format ceramics on her walls. It's so long since I did one that I don't know what Mapei product is best/cheapest....... Bathroom with shower bath (will tank and use cement based powder for wet area) but what is best product for the rest please??

Why don't you just use P9 allround,has a good bucket life and works well.

You use different adhesives for different substrates and types of tile.Some adhesives can be used on more than one type of surface/tile.There's also the convenience of using tub gear in some places.

Hi Doug, convenience and probably cost (although not 100% as i haven't worked it out). Mainly easier not to have to measure, mix, clean mixing paddle, bucket etc.

I will be using homelux waterproof matting in the shower area which requires a flexible powdered adhesive. The 'inferior' product is all that is required to fix the tiles properly in other areas which will not be subject to prolonged wetting.
If you saw what I've just taken off the walls, you would be amazed at what holds. 8mm large format tiles on tubbed adhesive over original pilkington 5mm 'cream crackers' tiles. Floor was on 6mm ply on floorboards, not a failure or crack anywhere..........

Tubbed gear is a cop out for any tiling situation. Its for amateurs.

Mapei P9 is a great adhesive and very cost effective.. around £10 a bag 20kg..
