I'd like to say.... Travertine should be just make sure you use a flexible adhesive suitable for the heat.... but wait for the lads to reply who know what they're talking about 🙂

If it discolours, that's ok! I will explain this to customer. I must add, its the whole inerior of the stove (base too) I just wonder it it will take the heat ?

The interior of the stove???? Traverine will not be suitable for "inside a stove" it will be far too hot in there and th stone will burst.......wjy would anyone ant stone insid their stove?? Or do you mean the interior of the stove housing, ie the chimney breast??

Interior of the STOVE?? Do you mean it's a fireplace? Stove to me means a stand alone metal device used for burning logs in. But then I may be mis-understanding the word...

If you mean the interior of a fireplace then there is only one type of stone for that: BLACK granite.
