Hello all,

I've been reading these forums with great interest but have not posted much as yet,

can anyone who owns a rubi TI 66 s, (as they have been out a while
now), tell me how they find it for ceramics as I've read they crush a lot of tiles? as I will be cutting ceramic as well as hard porca.

I have read Daves first review in 2008.

I really like the weight and dont mind the fact its hard to see the cut line,
its just I dont like the idea of a lot of crushed tiles

by the way I dont think I can stretch the extra ££s for the Monti.

So how is this single rail Rubi ......... or

many thanks for any replies

Sorry 4x4 ,never used one, I have trusty old ts 40 for ceramics and tx 700 for porcs:thumbsup:

i got one and is great on even the thinest of tiles. The one thing you have to remember is the amount of breaking pressure you have to apply. Procelain tiles heavyish score heavy break.......Ceramic tiles, light score, light break. Simple!! Great machine. Only gripe if cutting >300mm tiles make sure the guide is set up properly i.e. square to the scoring line. Do not rely on the indents for setting up 0 degrees/45 desgrees.

thanks Superally,
I really fancy the ti s 66 but have been put off by some other threads I have read about it,
the txn700 is great but it seems too expensive too heavy and a bit fiddly for me,

what did you use before to compare it with?
a few more positive comments and I will order thanks for taking the time to get back to me much appreciated!

if you can stretch your budget to TX700, I'd get it, you won't be disappointed. I think the TI 66S looks more fiddly imo:smilewinkgrin:

I just had a basic rubi star 40. The move up was mainly to cut 600mm porcelain. Put it like this....it has never failed to cut anthing I put in it!!

I was quite impressed when i cut 15mm x 600mm slither off a 10mm thick porcelain tile!!!!
You pay yer money and take your choice......

The old TX700 was mega heavy! The new light weight model is much better (About 6kgs lighter I think)

anyone else happy with their Rubi ti 66 s ????????????
i give it the :thumbsup:i was using it at the tiletrainingschool and bought it as soon as course finished, not used it often as not much work found but good piece of kit to use.

I think in the case it's 64" matt:yikes:, it won't fit sideways in the widest part of my scudo!

was even skinnier before I packed in the 'bines, needed to beef up again to cart that monster cutter about:lol:
