hi guys appreciate your advice on this one,

Went to see a job the other day laying porcelain tiles in a new extension the builder has laid the slc and not done a very good job lots of trowel marks not level, also some hairline cracks tried tapping doesnt seem hollow. Customer is having ufh laid on this by their own elctrician.

Id normally then lay latex leveller over the lot and tile. Im a bit concerned about the existing slc that the builder has laid what would you do.

ted:thumbsup:

Take it up and start again. Main reason being it sounds like a shoddy job. Maybe not on purpose but I am naturally suspicious that if this is a shoddy job then what it is hiding underneath.

gooner got there first and in less words.......must stop waffling 😳

customer doesnt want to to raise the floor i did reccomend insulation boards and about losing heat into the screed. i havcent given a price yet think il walk away from this one.

Cracks in slc, s'posed to be flexible , he's probably mixed it weak to get it to spread better, or he's had it in his store for ages, any case sounds like it needs to be removed.:mad2:
