so im doing this wetroom and today the customer shows me the tiles, they are slate, she loves them, 600x300 although some are595 some are 605, varying in thickness from about 6 mm to about18mm some of them are 6mm on one side and about 15mm on the other, like slabs of cheese, bloody nightmare. so should I tell her to take them back, meaning I would probably lose a couple of days, what would you do?:nopity:

B&Q..?

Grade them and fix them... natural split lower grade is like this... will be a longer job but work is work.

thats what I have done, some of them are so thin you should stick them in your ice cream, did the floor today-you wouldnt know, walls to look forward to tomorrow, shes over the moon, tile giant actually, some of them actually split through the seam-happy days but your right of course, work is work. Makes the 600x600 porcelain i have been doing recently seem blissfull. Next week im doing some 1200x 600 porcelain, short of hiring a cutter as long as a car, any tips?

I have big tiles to cut the week after next and i'm going to take the guard off my sigma 10M and push them through it with a fence runner.

go and buy a 1200 cutter this will become the norm in the next few years 1200x 600 tiles are be coming more and more popular if you hire a cutter the cost could be as much 20% of the cost of the cutter thats only 5 jobs to pay for its self

just dropped 7 and a bit on a dewalt wet saw,the mrs has now changed the purse strings to piano wire hooked up to a winch, if i go anywhere near it i'll look like the otter bloke out of animal magic, or an episode of tales of the unexpected. but i know where your coming from.

I found that out about 3 to 4 years ago Ray, so went for a TX 1200N, paid for itself on its' first job:thumbsup:
