Repair Pricing - Travertine 5cm mosaic, sheets of 25 tiles

Hi

I've been asked to quote on remove and repair Travertine 5cm tiles on sheets of 25 tiles. I can't believe London prices (I'm from Wirral originally) 10k for shower room 3m x 3m and utility room 3m x 3m - build cupboards and worktop for utility room and put in 3 pce suite for shower room. And tile the lot! 10k - xxxx xx!! Pardon the french!

So the tiling is awful (it's been put on block form instead of brick pattern, grout lines are thick and thin and that includes within the sheets!), and the cupboards look like balsa wood made with 15mm MDF!!

Anyway I know it's going to be a horrible job, but the woman has paid the builder in advance and he's been fired and won't return phone calls so she can't get the money returned. Here's the list of items to do (can't remove the lot as she can't afford it £57/m!):
- remove small sections and replace, fudging lines to make them look good.
- remove all window reveal and redo

So main questions:
- price to remove sml sections and replace?
- price to remove large sections and replace?

What % over your normal /m rate do you charge to remove/replace?

Don't know what London prices are like but I would look to charge about £20/hr for removal of tiles (day rate £150 - £160). I would then charge my normal rates for tiling - if it's only a small meterage then you might be better charging a day-rate for re-tiling.

£200 per day incl materials London rates,and price it at day rate when in London do as the cockney does and charge royally lol

i agree just charge your usual day rate unless the mtrge works out more money....
i dont normally take on someone else's nightmare unless i take the lot off and re-do...

hi - thanks to those that have replied so far...

Adding it up, I've got to re-do 11m2! If I was just tiling mosaic, it'd be, say 3 days: £605!

Oh dear prices in London - I'm scared!
