trowel
A trowel is a small hand tool used for digging, applying, smoothing, or moving small amounts of viscous or particulate material. Common varieties include the masonry trowel, garden trowel, and float trowel.
A power trowel is a much larger gasoline or electrically powered walk-behind device with rotating paddles used to finish concrete floors.
Good Evening,
I installed 12x24 wall tile in my shower remodel. I realize now that I should have used a 1/2 x 1/2 trowel, but used a 1/4"x1/4" trowel. I back buttered and troweled each tile as well as the wall. I pullled up tiles every so often and always had good coverage of the back. The tiles...
Manufacturer specified 3mm bed for these large format (2.4x1.2m) tiles, and that's what the build prepped for. Now I'm wondering what trowel to use to get the best results; was going for a u-notched one, but now I'm wondering whether a tiger trowel would be better? Though I can't find any info...

Hi all,
I’ve got three bathrooms to tile using 3.8mm Winckelmans porcelain hexagons (25mm). The substrate is fibre cement sheet over floorboards.

Hi everyone, I'm a DIYer with a week's training how to tile. I am about to tile my shower. I plan to use a tanking kit first such as the MAPEI one. My question however is, would the trowel scratch the surface of the cured membrane, causing a breach and negating any waterproofing done?

this website says a 12x12 square notch gives you 6mm deep adhesive. it also says a round trowel leave a 1/3 of its size, so a 10mm round lays 3mm deep.
