Is a 'thin bed solid bed trowel' the correct choice for shower over bath area with 33x25 ceramics (It's not a power shower only mixer taps)

Bought one of these recently and yes I know folk shouldnt really get excited about a gauging trowel:oops:but it's probably the best I've ever had:thumbsup:

i tiled my wet room tray with small mosaic tiles. trouble is i used an 8mm notched trowel and now realise i should have used a 3/4mm. the adhesive i used is mapei keraquick in white. some of the adhesive came through the gaps in areas so i wiped the surface down. is this going to be a problem...

I purchased a Rubi 10mm half round trowel from Tradetiler approximately 1 year ago. It now resembles a 5mm half round :mad2:.
I only use this trowel for floors (and not every floor that I do) but it seems to have worn out in only 12 months; Is this normal?
