thats my last bag of that, when doing walls, only been able to mix 4 inches in the bucket as im working in a 400 year old house,up 2 set of stairs

in a bathroom in the attic,no window

wouldnt mind if i thought id lose some weight, but im still shaped like a queen anne chair leg:mad2:

if you weren't going to get it finished in a shift i would use normal setting adhesive in this heat:thumbsup:

Same for grout in this weather, just struggled grouting bathroom walls and floor. Sun streaming through the window, baking the grout:mad2: all done now, hard work, but looks well:thumbsup:

Yep, you know you've been on the thick end of a hard days graft when you've been grouting in the summer sun:lol:

just doing some resteraunt toilets and theres nil windows its been roasting, as theres no lighting in there aswell, so weve had to use halogen light. also been using slow setting adhesive otherwise thinkm i would have cried
:mad2:

The commercial loo blocks I am doing have all the hot water pipes in a cupboard, it is sweltering in there so I nipped to HSS hire and got a air conditioner, plugged it in at 10am but by 2pm it was still boiling hot even though the machine was at full pump. I happened to glance up at the ceiling (false one removed) and saw a great big 12" duct that was sucking all the air out........😳

A bit of plastic wrapping and some tie straps around that soon brought the temperature down.

:mad2:

sorted!!, its larsen i use, £14 a bag, TG is a 30 mile round trip and is no cheaper,

on the advice of the shop ,i got a bag of standard set and mixed it 50/50:thumbsup:,steve

400 year old house ,ran out of pencils:thumbsdown:with pics

Whats going on with the tiles left of the window?
Seems to be a lot of lippage there.

😳

It's probably wet grout that looks darker, not lipping.

iain get them to put some lighting in there, tiling with a halogen light for me is no good ,when the lighting goes in it could look pants, british standards state lighting should be supplied and the lighting should be equivalent to the finished lighting that will be installed, i know its very unlikely they will do this ,and ive never come across it

macten, spot on ,the client quizzed me on why the grout is patchy, guess which grout

ultracolorplus, jazmin.i would use the BAL, but topps want £34 for 10 kg of ivory

the light brigade didnt charge that much:thumbsup:

😳

It's the rustic look that owners of 400 year old properties are looking for!
I tiled a 300 year old barn conversion that the walls were 300mm sloping back and that's what they wanted. I believe it's called Contour tiling:lol:
