Radio Most important tool?

Hi all

I think the radio and the kettle are very close contenders for sanity at work

Is anyone sick of hearing radio 1 or 2 every day on site for the last 10 years? If i hear another Jo whiley show I'm ....anyway.

I'm going to hopefully be working on my own in a few weeks so will have the choice of what i listen to on the radio. So I'm thinking of getting myself a Digital radio for a bit more variety in stations.

Question is Does anyone here use a decent digital radio they'd recommend as all the ones i've looked at seem a little bit fragile for on site?

if i had my way all radios would be baned from site i think it wrong and rude that everybody has to listen to somebody else's noise

Why is it that nearly all site workers especially the older ones ( not me ) listen to radio 2.....i hate terry wogan........

I,m pleased i work on my own then i listen to what i want....at a reasonable noise level as well... i know wot pete means coz some peeps have there radios on full blast so the whole site can hear it...i have mine load enough for me to hear ....

i was under the impression that radios were banned on sites now...health and safety....

I finished the last site i am going to do in may and they still listened to them then..but i think it depends on the site...i know you are not allowed to play music to more than a set amount of peeps without a music licence....

I always ask the customersw if its ok,I'd seriously consider not doing the job if I couldn't have my radio on.On site alot I seem to be the only one with a radio.
I always listen to Radio one but if theres alot of old farts around Dave or Gaz's age I'll put the local radio station on to make it fair.
A painter the other day asked me if I would change radio 1 for radio 2 for him cause he loves Steve Wright,that was 2 weeks ago and I still haven't stopped laughing.

Seriously working by yourself I need my radio to keep me sane.

ya just can't beat a bit of moyles in a morning, when i'm in my lorry driving on early shift i'm lucky to hear all his show, but jo whiley don't get me started she is the most annoying woman out there! & how some blokes think she's georgeous...... s*** in their eyes or wot?:mad2:

DAB radio is the way fwd, some good stations on there, even has a comedy channel

Do's any one remember a guy called "Ceaser the geezer" on kiss fm early hours of the morning quite a few years ago, then talk radio but he got the sack, the guy was brilliant.

Virgin for me great mix but cant stand suggs really up his own backend, just got dab radio from the catalouge shop only ten quids for a goodmans seems canny but not tried the more expensive ones.

if it's any help i've bought a roberts digital and it seems to be holding its own can't remember the model it's tucked away in the van at the moment.

I did listen to 1..then got intempo dab radio...listened to planet rock..and 6 music...with dj Phil Jupitas among others alternative sounds for me...arctic monkeys..etc.....Gaz

Is it just the classic old looking roberts one? I've heard roberts are a quality sounding radio. I've been looking at this one : [DLMURL]http://www.robertsradio.co.uk/pages/rd46.html[/DLMURL] Probably be ruined in a few weeks tho!
