Hi even though I've tilied the floor in three of our bath/cloak rooms I have for some reason cocked up and primed the plywood floor in the guest en suite. I've used Bal primer will the surface take the adhesive or do I need to take action before tiling. Thanks.

What adhesive are you using? Some say to prime the back and sides but not the top, others back, sides and top. It should say on the back of the bag of adhesive what it recommends.

Bri I'm using Bal Single part fastlex, floor went down before tiles even chosen so no way of sealing rear.

I've got a bag in the van and just went to read the back, it says prime all sides, back and face so yo won't have any issues tiling onto the ply if you've primed it. How thick is your ply? Welcome along to the forum by the way!!!

Cheers Bri that solves the problem. I'm tiling a floating floor on 12mm ply cross layed over 18mm ply.

As Del says, a floating floor can be a minefield of problems (mainly getting it solid enough to tile to). I've only ever done 1 and it's still OK to this day but, I think thats more down to luck than judgement. Be very careful.

If it's a true floating floor on top of kingspan or other type of insulation board then I would recommend not tiling it, as the chances of failure are very high.
